The North West Leicestershire Conservative Association (NWLCA) have welcomed a new leadership team after their recent AGM. Both County Councillors Craig Smith and Keith Merrie MBE have been appointed deputy chairman, whilst Kirat Sandhu has become communications officer, Leon Spence has remained chairman of the association.
A spokesman for the group said “NWLCA is delighted to announce the appointment of two new deputy chairman and a new communications officer to its leadership team. The local conservative association is confident the appointment of these officers will bolster its ability to address the diverse needs of the local constituency.”
Chairman Leon Spence great expressed his gratitude on behalf of the entire association for the outgoing deputy Chairman Mark Evans and Robert Ashman, he said “we are incredibly grateful for the hard work dedication both Mark and Robert put in throughout their tenure, their commitment to the association and the local community has been unwavering and their efforts paid a key role in the success of the association. I thank them for their outstanding contribution and wish them every success in the future.”
“I'm delighted to welcome Keith and Craig as our new association 2 new deputy Chairman, both have big shoes to fill but I am certain that they will serve the association with dignity and diligence and they just as they have served their respective electorates as county councillors so positively.”
The NWLCA said their newly appointed team will be focused on several key priorities including the selection of a new prospective parliamentary candidate for North West Leicestershire ahead of next year's general election, “the association is dedicated to identifying an exceptional candidate who can represent the constituencies interests and values at national level” the spokesman added.
