Well done to County Councillor Craig Smith, for calling out the NWL Labour candidate Amanda Hack at Leicestershire County Council yesterday.
"Yesterday I refuted the NWL Labour Parliamentary candidate’s recent press release entitled “Our schools are falling to pieces”.
Despite the County Council informing her that after initial survey, no County Council maintained school had RAAC, in fact out of the 348 Schools in Leicestershire only ONE Academy Trust school was identified with RAAC, that is one too many, but robust mitigation procedures have been put in place.
Clearly Mrs Hack is trying a little too hard to impress her leader and copying and pasting central party lines.
Personally I feel that this was totally unnecessary scaremongering for personal political gain. The parents of NWL will not thank her for this.
By contrast, as Cabinet support member for the Children and Families department I issued a fact checked press release at the peak of the media reporting on RAAC, reassuring parents, I even spoke to several worried parents in person to dispel there concerns after reading Mrs Hacks press release."
